Kerry Airport rolls out Red Carpet to show visitors that the Kingdom is “alive inside”



 

AFTER walking along the red carpet to the Terminal building, there was a pint of the “black schtuff” awaiting the first passengers to fly into Kerry Airport from Dusseldorf Weeze on July 1st.


To mark the commencement of the new Ryanair service between Kerry and Dusseldorf Weeze, the latest visitors to the Kingdom were given the full Red Carpet treatment as they were toasted with champagne, Guinness and strawberries. This latest destination, the fourth to come on stream from Kerry since March, is situated near the Dutch border. The flights will depart from Kerry at 9am and arrive into Kerry at 1.55pm on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday,” said Noel Ryan of Kerry Airport.

 

This new link between Kerry and Germany is welcome news for tourism in Kerry and the southwest with potential to bring an additional 10,000 German into the region over the summer season. This is particularly good news in the current economic climate,” he added.

 

Many of the passengers who arrived, as well as those who departed for Dusseldorf Weeze earlier in the day, availed of the great value low fares which start from €10 one-way including taxes.


Dusseldorf-Weeze already services over 50 Ryanair destinations and it is located one hour from Dusseldorf City centre. As a cross-bordering holiday region you can experience everything squared as you will discover two countries in one trip on the German-Dutch Lower Rhine. Champagne reception at Kerry Airport to welcome back Aer Arann Manchester flight


Kerry Airport was once again the toast of the Kingdom today when Aer Arann celebrated the re-launch of its service to Manchester.


Basil Sheerin, spokesperson for Kerry Airport said: “We greatly welcome Aer Arann’s decision to re-introduce the air link between Kerry and Manchester which has a proven record of being profitable with satisfactory passenger loads and revenue. The new service has the potential to greatly increase tourism income for the county and it is another vote of confidence in both Kerry Airport and Kerry as a gateway. This will have a positive economic impact on a range of sectors in the southwest region.”


Aer Arann announced the return of the route in March this year and since then booking figures have been excellent indicating the demand for the service throughout Kerry and the surrounding areas.

Beginning today, the flights will operate four days a week arriving into Kerry at 1310 hours and departing at 1330 hours on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Full details are available from www.kerryairport.ie/timetable.

The CEO of Aer Arann, Mr Paul Schütz who attended a champagne reception to mark the return of the route, said: “We are delighted to have our Kerry customers back on board with us from today. Initial support for the route has been excellent which we sincerely hope will continue. We look forward to re-building our presence in the south west region over the coming months.

Another new route for Kerry Airport enhances German connection

 

 

THE LINK between Kerry and Germany is to be further enhanced with the announcement today that Ryanair is to commence another new route from Kerry Airport. From the 1st of July flights to Dusseldorf-Weeze near the Dutch border,will depart from Kerry at 9am on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday with a great low fare of €26.99 one-way including taxes.


Financial Controller at Kerry Airport, Basil Sheerin, said: “There has always been a strong affiliation between County Kerry and Germany. The Frankfurt-Hahn service, now in its seventh year, has been very successful and with a population of 80 million people, we always believed that there would be room for another German flight. We expect tourism in Kerry to the winners following today’s announcement with accommodation providers and ancillary tourism services set to benefit from the growth in visitor numbers from Germany.”

Kiss of Algarve sunshine awaits first Ryanair passengers from Kerry Airport to Faro

 

 

THE sun has got its hat on for the lucky passengers who took off from Kerry Airport today for the glorious resort of Faro on the Algarve. It was the first flight on the new schedule to the Portuguese destination with Ryanair which will operate twice weekly from now until the end of June and three times a week in July & August.


Financial Controller at Kerry Airport, Basil Sheerin said: “We were delighted when Ryanair announced that they would be introducing two new sun routes from Kerry. The flights to Alicante in Spain have proven to be very successful since they commenced at the start of March. Early bookings suggest that the Faro route will also be a winner for passengers to the extent that Ryanair have added an extra day to the service during the peak summer period.”


Laura McCormack of Ryanair, who was in Kerry to wish the passengers Bon Voyage said: “Ryanair is delighted to welcome passengers on board its new service from Kerry Airport to Faro, capital of the Algarve. Faro, famous for its long sandy beaches and sunny weather has been a firm favourite with Irish holiday makers for many years. Huge boost to Kerry Airport as Aer Arann announces return of Manchester route

 

KERRY Airport is delighted to announce that from next May, Aer Arann will re-introduce a regular service to and from Manchester with the potential to generate passenger figures in the region of 20,000 a year.

 

The flights will operate four days a week arriving into Kerry at 1320 hours and departing at 1350 hours on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, beginning on Thursday 20th May 2010. Full details are available from kerryairport.ie/timetable.

Today, Kerry Airport announced two new Summer sun routes direct to Europe’s popular holiday destinations, Faro, Portugal and Alicante, Spain with Ryanair. Commencing in March 2010 to the end of October, the routes will each operate day-time flights, twice weekly on Wednesday and Saturday. Fares start from only EUR30 each way including taxes and charges and are on sale from this Thursday (17/12/2009) on www.ryanair.com

Summer Sun destinations have historically proven to be very popular routes from Kerry Airport. Today, we are pleased to announce that both Faro on Portugal’s beautiful Algarve and Alicante on Spain’s famous Costa Blanca will be available direct from Kerry in 2010. We are confident both routes will be a success and well supported as demand for these destinations is strong locally.

Speaking at a press conference at Kerry Airport this morning, Ryanair’s Lesley Kane, Head of Sales and Marketing Ryanair, Europe, said;

Ryanair is pleased to announce new Kerry routes to/from Alicante and Faro from summer 2010, increasing passenger numbers through Kerry Airport by approximately 30,000. We are confident these direct, low cost routes will be successful. Ryanair is celebrating these new routes by releasing 1 million, €5 seats for travel Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on over 500 routes across its European network in January 2010. These EUR5 seats are now available for booking on www.ryanair.com until midnight Thursday (17th December).
